Southern Leyte State University Strengthens Procurement Processes Through PMIS Training

Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) through University Information System and Analytics conducted a Training-Workshop on the Formulation of the Project Procurement Management Plan (PPMP) and the Annual Procurement Plan (APP) using the Procurement Management Information System (PMIS) on September 8, 2025, at Hotel de SLSU. This initiative was part of the university’s continuing efforts to enhance efficiency, accountability, and transparency in procurement processes. Faculty, staff, and end-users actively participated, bringing their own laptops for hands-on exercises to maximize learning.
The training featured discussions on key topics such as the 2026 budget briefing, modes of procurement, and proper utilization of the updated PMIS. The event formally opened with a welcome address delivered by Dr. Marie Khul C. Langub, Vice President for Student Auxiliary Services, who emphasized the importance of equipping employees with the right skills to handle procurement requirements. Other distinguished resource speakers included Mr. Robin Ariel F. Sumaya, Budget Officer III; Mr. Reymark M. Cativo, BAC Secretary; and Ms. Joedizza May Noverra L. Pilapil, Head of Data Analytics System. Their expertise guided participants in understanding technical processes and ensuring accuracy in the formulation of procurement plans.
University President Dr. Jude A. Duarte delivered the closing message, emphasizing the importance of digital solutions in streamlining operations and ensuring compliance with government procurement policies. The activity reinforced the institution’s commitment to innovation, transparency, and good governance, equipping its personnel with the tools to perform procurement tasks more effectively.
