SLSU Co-hosts the 7th International Conference on Research in Engineering and Technology with TVU
On June 22, 2024, the 7th International Conference on Research in Engineering and Technology commenced at Tra Vinh University (TVU), Vietnam, co-hosted by Southern Leyte State University (SLSU), Philippines. The event opened with a welcome speech from TVU Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, emphasizing the importance of international collaboration in advancing technological progress and achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The conference aims to contribute to SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Keynote speeches, including one by Dr. Frances Ann Sy, VP for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (RIES), and presentations covering sustainable engineering practices, technological innovations, and digital transformation, were highlights of the event.
Five presenters from SLSU, with four onsite and one online, showcased their latest research. The collaboration between TVU and SLSU highlights strong academic ties between Vietnam and the Philippines, enhancing research quality through shared expertise. The event is a two-day activity with networking sessions for exploring potential collaborations. Dr. Jude Duarte delivered the closing message, highlighting the event's success and the future of international research cooperation.
