Research Writing Using PRISMA Methodology
In line with its commitment to fostering research excellence and contributing to sustainable development, the Office of the Director for Research and Innovation at Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) organized an engaging workshop titled “Research Writing Using PRISMA Methodology” on November 27, 2024 at RIES Training Hall. Faculty and staff enthusiastically participated in this transformative activity.
The workshop was designed to address the critical need for structured and reliable approaches in synthesizing research findings which is an essential step in promoting evidence-based solutions to global challenges. By utilizing the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) methodology, participants gained valuable insights into ensuring clarity, transparency, and thoroughness in systematic reviews.
Dr. Melvin Sarsale, RIES Head of San Juan Campus, and Dr. Catherine Garcia served as resource persons, guiding participants through the methodology's robust framework. Their expertise and dynamic presentations empowered faculty members to enhance the quality and impact of their research outputs.
This initiative supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) particularly SDG 4, Quality Education, SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth and SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals. By advancing research excellence, SLSU contributes to sustainable and equitable development.
