Southern Leyte State U partners with brgys Tampoong, San Jose for a livelihood program
The Southern Leyte State University through the Institute of Arts and Sciences, Barangay San Jose, and Barangay Tampoong, Sogod Southern Leyte entered into a Memorandum of Agreement on February 10, 2023 at the University’s Conference Room on a Community Based Young Parents Support and Livelihood Program.
The Program aims to assess the knowledge and skills of the youth partners in the practice of responsible parenthood, to train them in the making of detergent liquid, and to educate them in production, and marketing the product.
The partnership is geared towards the Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (RIES) mission for an improved quality of life of Southern Leyteños and the people in other service areas, and livelihood generation as the thrust and priority area.
The signing of MOA was held in the presence of the University President, Dr. Jude Duarte, Vice President for RIES Dr. Francis Ann Sy, Director for Extension Services Dr. Frederick Aniga, Instutute of Arts and Sciences (IAS) RIES Coordinator and staff, and Hon. Jeffrex R. Gan and and Hon. Renante A. Cano, Brgy. Captains of San Jose and Tampoong, respectively.
