Southern Leyte State U, TVU libraries meet for knowledge sharing, collaboration

In a notable display of cross-cultural cooperation, the officials of the libraries of Southern Leyte State University and Trà Vinh University recently met virtually on May 30, 2023.

The said meeting follows after both institutions renews their partnership through signing of Memorandum of Agreement on March 24 for more collaborative activities.

Dr. Thuy Tieu from TVU and Ms. Geanrose L. Colonia from Southern Leyte State U led the virtual meeting to introduce the libraries' staff, exchange ideas, and explore potential areas of collaboration which include the reciprocal inclusion of website links between the libraries of the two institutions, enabling seamless access to each other's online resources.

Additionally, both institutions will review and exchange links to open-access resources, augmenting their websites' available materials.

TVU has granted Southern Leyte State U access to their Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) and commercial resource data.

To further facilitate resource exploration, virtual meetings are planned in the upcoming months to guide and assist each other in effectively utilizing the resources on their respective library websites. Plans for collaborative research projects are underway, with implementation slated for the following year.

Together, Southern Leyte State U and TVU aim to enhance their academic resources, expand knowledge-sharing opportunities, and contribute to advancing scholarship in their respective institutions.
