SLSU, DLSU forms Partnership for Research Engagements; Conducts Workshop on Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods
Southern Leyte State University recognizes the paramount importance of equipping its faculty researchers with the necessary skills to navigate the complexities of quantitative and qualitative data analysis. As the landscape of academia continues to evolve, there is an increasing emphasis on conducting rigorous and insightful qualitative research across various disciplines.
On April 29, 2024, Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) and the Social Development Research Center of De La Salle University (DLSU) have recently formalized a partnership agreement aimed at fostering innovative research projects and engagements. Through collaborative efforts such as joint research initiatives, knowledge sharing, and workshop organization, the two institutions aspire to generate impactful research outcomes that can inform policy decisions and facilitate community development.
The partnership was represented by the following distinguished officials from Southern Leyte State University: University President Dr. Jude A. Duarte; Vice President for Research and Innovation, Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy; Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Constantino G. Medilo Jr.; Vice President for Student Auxiliary Services, Dr. Annabelle M. Hufalar; Director for Research and Innovation, Dr. Marie Khul Langub; Director for External Linkages and International Affairs, Dr. Ingrid M. Uy; and Head for Research Operations, Rujube H. Hermano. Correspondingly, from De La Salle University: Dr. Homer J. Yabut, Director of the Social Development Research Center, accompanied by esteemed research fellows Dr. Crisanto Q. Regadio Jr. and Dr. Zaldy C. Collado.
After the MOA signing, the Workshop on Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methodologies commenced at the USSC Plenary Hall, it is a two-day workshop. This workshop equips faculty researchers with the necessary skills to analyze quantitative and qualitative data effectively. The activity will provide an in-depth understanding of various qualitative data analysis techniques and their applications. Moreover, the workshop facilitates discussions around ensuring rigor and trustworthiness in quantitative and qualitative inquiry, offering insights into best practices and strategies for maintaining methodological integrity.
