Extension Services, KTTO conducts IP awareness, Prior Art Search seminar-workshop with DepEd Maasin
The Office of Extension Services, together with the Knowledge Technology Transfer Office headed by Dr. Angel T. Sabusap and Engr. Khorina O Aguilar conducts a seminar workshop on IP awareness and Prior Art Search Phase 1 for the DepED Maasin City Division Teachers on February 16, 2024, at Cacao Mountain Resort, Maasin City.
The protection of intellectual property rights is increasing nowadays for most developing countries. With the diverse changes in international policy, stronger intellectual property protection is very significant as evidence of the creation of every individual. Anchored on SLSU’s thrust and priority on Transformative Learning, the activity aims to capacitate the teachers in drafting patents and registering innovative products to be IP protected. The project objectives also target sustainable development goals No. 9, industry, innovation, and infrastructure, and SDG No. 17, partnership with a goal.
The activity was welcomed by Dr. Jaime Leon T. Cardona, OIC-Assistant Schools Division Superintendent -Maasin City Division. He emphasized the importance of learning new knowledge for self and professional development. Also present was Engr. Jonelle Tablada, Head-AREC and Patent Drafter.
