Southern Leyte State U, DA-8 collabs for Journal Publication, Knowledge Management and Technology Protection training workshop
Southern Leyte State University, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office VIII, recently concluded a comprehensive training workshop focused on Journal Publication, Knowledge Management, and Technology Protection. Held from February 16 to 20, 2024, at Abuyog Experiment Station, Abuyog Leyte, this initiative aimed to enhance participants' skills in academic writing and intellectual property protection, particularly concerning patentable technologies. Attendees from various Department of Agriculture stations in Eastern Visayas benefited from the program.
Aligned with Southern Leyte State University's core values of innovation, knowledge dissemination, and community development, the workshop was designed to empower participants to publish research outputs while safeguarding intellectual property effectively.
The training workshop featured speakers who shared their expertise on various topics. Dr. Ludito Ramirez, Head of the Journal Production and Management Office, shared the intricacies of journal writing and publication. Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services, emphasized the significance of protecting intellectual property, providing invaluable insights into its importance. Engr. Khorina Aguilar, the Director of Knowledge and Technology Transfer, alongside Ms. Rio Katrina Avila, the Head of the Innovation and Technology Support Office, equipped participants with essential skills in patent searching and invention spotting, empowering them to navigate the innovation landscape effectively.
