RI office hosts training-workshop on computer vision application
The Office of the Director for Research and Innovation of Southern Leyte State University under Dr. Rhoderick D. Malangsa hosted a two-day Training Workshop on the Application of Computer Vision on January 19-20, 2023.
The objectives of the training workshop are consistent with the University’s commitment to its core value on innovation which is to generate solutions for its stakeholders’ delight and raise the bar, both within the workplace and throughout the academic community through innovative solutions and initiatives.
By providing a training-workshop, it prepares, and develops the capabilities of the Southern Leyte State U students, bringing them closer to the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI), giving them opportunities for promising careers ahead.
While the activity emphasized the strengths and potentials of AI through computer vision, it was also intended to provide an avenue for equal access for both male and female participants on learning computer vision techniques and their application.
The GAD element in the project, moreover, speaks volume of the University’s intention to create equality in the community.
The training was spearheaded by Ms. Jannie Fleur Oraño, Center Head of Geographic Information System - Technology Center.
