FOE, FOT conduct faculty immersion program at C&U Philippines, Inc.
On July 29, the Faculty of Engineering (FOE) and the Faculty of Technology (FOT) launched a two-week faculty immersion program at C&U Philippines, Inc. in Sto. Tomas, Batangas. This program was designed to provide an in-depth experience for the four participating faculty members, offering them hands-on exposure to the production processes at C&U Philippines.
The goal of this faculty immersion program is to enhance the curriculum and teaching methods of the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Technology, ensuring that students receive up-to-date and relevant education. Additionally, the program aims to develop industry-relevant skills and identify gaps between theory and practice. It also focuses on building strong connections between the academic institution and industry professionals to promote future collaboration and innovation.
C&U Philippines, a subsidiary of the globally recognized China-based C&U Group, is renowned for its cutting-edge manufacturing of various types of bearings. Established in 2019, the Batangas branch specializes in producing deep groove ball bearings, tapered roller bearings, and other essential components used in home appliances, automobiles, and water pumps.
The participating faculty members from the Faculty of Engineering were Engr. Rommel T. Valmoria and Engr. Joel M. Infornon, while Mr. Mark Neil Macarat and Mr. Arden Lazaga represented the Faculty of Technology.
This faculty immersion program at C&U Philippines marks a step forward in directly engaging with industry practices, enabling faculty members to bring a wealth of practical knowledge back to their classrooms.
