All About the Knowledge: SLSU University Library conducts Information Literacy on Copyright and Open Access for 3rd year students
Yesterday, November 13, 2024, third-year students from all Southern Leyte State University campuses gathered, both in person and virtually, for a valuable hybrid session on "Information Literacy on Copyright and Open Access." Hosted on the second floor of the University Library, this event reached students across SLSU campuses through Facebook Live, ensuring broad access to essential insights on knowledge protection and sharing.
The program began with the Philippine National Anthem, followed by a solemn prayer presented through an Audio-Visual Presentation. Dr. Annabelle M. Hufalar, Vice President for Student and Auxiliary Services, then delivered an inspiring welcome message, emphasizing the impact of reading on our daily lives.
The main session was led by Engr. Khorina Aguilar, Director of Extension Services, who expertly discussed the significance of copyright, exploring its nuances and related topics. Her session highlighted the balance between protecting intellectual property and encouraging knowledge sharing.
Ms. Geonalyn Sumalinog, RL, College Librarian of SLSU Main Campus, introduced Engr. Aguilar, and the event concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Geanrose L. Colonia, RL, MLIS, Director of Learning Commons and Library Services. Mr. Reynaldo R. Cebuala Jr., e-Library Technician, ensured a smooth and engaging program flow.
