SLSyoU Thrives in Forward-Thinking Workshop to Future-Proof All Academic Programs
Through the initiative of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, headed by Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes, the academic unit of Southern Leyte State University embarked on the conduct of the plenary-workshop on enriching the curriculum of SLSU in the lens of futures-thinking tools and methodologies.
The 2-day engagement, accommodated by Dr. Reginald G. Ugaddan of the UP - Diliman NCPAG Governance Futures Lab as the Resource Person, brought together senior faculty, faculty experts, and senior leaders, showcased the university's commitment to staying at the forefront of educational excellence and adaptability.
The workshop, held on December 5-6, 2023, unfolded against the backdrop of an ever-evolving educational landscape, where universities, most specially SLSU, should be implementing strategic combination of evidence, imagination, and anticipation in the curricular aspect. It was productively learned that data and research, along with futures-based intelligence, should be utilized and transformed to create an impact that fosters development and provides sustainable solutions to emerging problems that the University may encounter, enabling SLSU to achieve vision, mission, and golad more effectively and efficiently.
