SLSU initiates training on Use of Medicinal Plants, Herbal Medicine Preparation, Acupressure and Virgin Coconut Oil Formulation
Southern Leyte State University through the University Human Resource Management & Development Office in cooperation with SLSU Health and Wellness Services and the Office of the University President, spearheaded a training on Patnubay sa Paggamit ng Halamang-Gamot (Use of Medicinal Plants), Herbal Medicine Preparation, Acupressure and Virgin Coconut Oil Formulation," in collaboration with the Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Healthcare (PITAHC) on September 11-12, 2024 at the Plenary Hall, USSC Building.
The training activity was split into three parts, on September 11, Ms. Joy Lapinid - Hipe, Special Operation Officer III and TAHP and Research Development Coordinator for DOH-PITAHC discussed the topic on Acupressure. On the morning of September 12, Ms. Hipe, further discussed how to use Halamang-Gamot and Herbal Medicine Preparation, followed by the election of new officers for Alternative Health Care Enthusiasts. For the third part, Dr. Angel Sabusap, Director for Extension Services, discussed about Virgin Coconut Oil Formulation, via zoom on the afternoon of September 12. All sessions were attended by all interested SLSU employees.
This activity aims to enhance the capability, knowledge, attitudes, practices and skills of the participants on traditional medicine and alternative health care. This is also a part of the UHRMD's series of activities in celebration of the 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.
