BARGO, FOT conducts Outreach Activity in Brgy. San Roque
On July 28, 2024, the Business Affairs and Resource Generation Office, in partnership with the Faculty of Technology, successfully hosted the "Be Part to Alleviate and Rebuild Generations for Opportunity (B.A.R.G.O)" Clean and Green Drive with Gift-giving in Brgy. San Roque, Sogod, Southern Leyte. This impactful event brought together faculty & staff of Southern State University and community members in a series of activities designed to promote environmental stewardship and community support.
Volunteers actively engaged in a vigorous Clean-Up Drive spearheaded by the BARGO Director Engr. Cris Vincent Ranque, with the team members and student volunteers significantly enhancing the local environment in Brgy. San Roque through their collective efforts between SK members and I-mee Gwapa members.
This hands-on activity not only improved the area but also highlighted the importance of community responsibility and teamwork. The event’s heartwarming Gift-Giving segment followed, where school supplies were distributed to community youth members from Ms. Mirah Flores, an advocate of helping community from Florida, USA. This act of kindness was a tangible expression of the event’s spirit and showcased the generosity of all involved. The youth together with the SLSU Team had breakfast as a symbol of celebrating the success of the clean and green campaign. Words of Gratitude were shared to acknowledge the significant contributions of every participant and celebrate the collective effort that made the event successful was given from Mr. Rico Garlet, one of the councilors of Barangay San Roque. Hence, the SK Chairman Glydel Ann Tadtad made a thankful message. Certificates were also awarded to honor the sponsor of the school supplies, as well as the facilitators of the event marking their invaluable contributions to the outreach initiative. The day concluded with an inspiring Closing Message by Ms. Roxanne Cejas, faculty member of Technology reinforcing the importance of community service and the impact of such initiatives.
This successful collaboration underscores the power of working together towards common goals and the remarkable impact that dedicated service can have on both individuals and the broader community.
