Southern Leyte State U conducts IP awareness writeshop to promote innovative tech, IP protection

Southern Leyte State University, through the SLSU Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) conducted an Intellectual Property (IP) Awareness and Prior Art Search Writeshop on March 30-31, 2023 for students with the aim of providing them with basic knowledge and awareness of patent search.

The workshop aims to bestow young researchers with the basic steps on drafting their research outputs for the UM/Patent/Industrial Design/Copyrights portfolio which will be submitted to the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL).

Through the guidance of the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office (KTTO), the ITSO facilitated the activity which plays a significant role in identifying what research should propose to produce innovative technologies.

The activity is in line with the target of Research and Innovations for AY 2022-2023 to submit IPs, making it a critical area for the institution.

The workshop equipped young researchers with knowledge and awareness to produce innovative technologies and ensured that they are aware of the importance of intellectual property protection.
