RIES unveils cutting-edge management information systems
Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (RIES) of Southern Leyte State University launched its Management Information Systems (MIS) via Zoom on April 27, 2022
MIS is to facilitate the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data and information to support evidence-based decision-making and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of these services. It also enables stakeholders to track progress, identify trends, and make informed decisions that drive innovation and promote development in the field.
Southern Leyte State U is aiming to become data and analytics-driven by maximizing the value of data platforms with data integration and management capabilities.
To achieve this goal, RIES, in collaboration with the University Information Systems and Analytics (UISA), initiated the development of the RIES MIS as part of the university's Information System Strategic Plan.
The RIES MIS is composed of four subsystems that aim to provide data management support to RIES processes, including research and innovation PPA's monitoring and management, research and innovation request management, extension services PPA's monitoring and management, and extension services requests management subsystem.
This project is driven by the need for digital transformation and faster response to unexpected situations, which require modernization and smarter processes for higher business efficiency and innovation.
By leveraging Management Information Systems, research, innovation, and extension services can effectively organize vast amounts of data and make it easily accessible to the University and its stakeholders. These systems enable users to quickly and efficiently retrieve, analyze, and share information, facilitating informed decision-making and promoting progress in the field
