SLSU Innovation and Technology Office Conducts Patent Drafting Workshop
As the year draws to a close, the Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) of Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) recently concluded a successful two-day patent drafting workshop for research-based engineering technology.
Held on December 11-12, 2024, at the RIES Training Hall, the workshop aimed to equip participants with the necessary skills to draft patent applications for their innovative projects.
The workshop welcomed project or study leaders, research assistants, and fourth-year Electrical Engineering students. Day one focused on the fundamentals of patent searching and invention spotting. Day two delved deeper into crafting patent claims and the comprehensive process of drafting an intellectual property (IP) document.
Through a combination of informative lectures and practical hands-on workshops, participants gained valuable insights and practical experience in patent drafting. This equipped them to produce outputs ready for IP application by the end of the workshop.
The ITSO's commitment to fostering innovation and protecting intellectual property rights is evident in this successful workshop. By empowering students and researchers to safeguard their inventions, SLSU continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of technology and knowledge.
