BARGO Conducts Write Shop On Project Operation Manual
On November 28–29, 2024, the Business Affairs and Resource Generation office hel a two-day workshop to enhance the skills of participants in creating operational manuals and understanding statutory and regulatory requirements for income-generating projects. The event offered a mix of expert-led sessions, hands-on activities, and collaborative discussions, providing an engaging platform for learning and professional growth.
The workshop commenced on Thursday, November 28,with an inspiring opening message from Dr. Jude A. Duarte, University President, who emphasized the importance of operational manuals in achieving efficiency and accountability in project management. Ms. Roxanne M. Cejas set the tone with a clear Statement of Purpose, emphasizing the workshop's goal to empower project managers with tools to develop comprehensive operational manuals.
Dr. Juanita M. Costillas led the morning session, “How to Write an Operational Manual,” providing participants with practical steps for developing effective and detailed guides. As a resource speaker with extensive expertise in project management, she emphasized the significance of clarity and structure in manuals. “Operational manuals are not just documents; they are the foundation for consistency and success in any project," Dr. Costillas explained during her session. She walked participants through real-world examples, highlighting common pitfalls and solutions.
The afternoon session featured Mr. Leo A. Omamalin’s talk on “Statutory and Regulatory Requirements for Income-Generating Projects.” His presentation underscored the legal and financial obligations necessary for project sustainability and expertise equipped attendees with the knowledge to navigate complex regulatory environments.
Day two began with a continuation of the write shop, where participants worked collaboratively to finalize their outputs. The remainder of the day was dedicated to output presentations, showcasing the participants' progress and ideas. These presentations were evaluated by project managers Ms. Khristyl Joy F. Sibay, Ms. Roxanne M. Cejas, Ms. Perla Tenio, Dr. Dinah F. Catamco and Coordinator of BARGO in external campuses.
The event wrapped up with a certificate-giving ceremony led by Engr. Cris Vincent L. Ranque, Director of BARGO. Dr. Dewoowoogen P. Balaclon delivered the closing message, emphasizing the importance of implementing the lessons learned to enhance organizational productivity.
