SLSU - RI holds seminar-workshop on Gender Analysis
The office of the Director for Research and Innovation initiated a seminar-workshop on Gender Analysis held on April 17, 2024, at the RIES Training Hall.
Gender analysis in research helps to identify differences between genders in various facets of life, including access to education, healthcare, work prospects, and political representation. Understanding these inequalities allows academics to develop equitable policies and interventions. It enables researchers to investigate how gender norms, roles, and expectations affect behavior, decision-making, and outcomes. This awareness is critical for resolving challenges such as gender violence, discrimination, and societal inequities.
The activity’s Resource Person was Ms. Adelfa C. Diola, Science Research Specialist II. Ms. Jona Mae C. Espere, Director for Gender and Development, is also present.
Incorporating gender analysis into research is critical for advancing knowledge, fostering equality, and meeting the different needs and experiences experienced by individuals throughout the gender spectrum.
