Tabang ni Tomas para sa Malitboganons: SLSU-Tomas Oppus organizes outreach program

Through the initiative of the campus’ Extension Services Office, Southern Leyte State U – Tomas Oppus, together with its faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders, conducted an outreach program entitled “Tabang ni Tomas para sa Malitboganons,” on September 13, 2023.

With the assistance of the SSC and student organizations from the campus, the distribution took place at the ABC Hall in Malitbog. The outreach program consists of three parts: distributed food packs for the first wave and packs of clothing for the second wave to 20 families identified by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office. The third wave of distribution was a house-to-house distribution to four other identified families of PWDs who couldn’t come to the venue, summing up to 24 family beneficiaries.

This community-driven initiative serves as a reminder that education institutions can go beyond academics and is in line with the University’s mission of providing community engagement and services relevant to the needs of the said community.
