Southern Leyte State University Conducts ‘Tugpa Dayun LUPAD’: A Year-End Performance Review and Target Setting
Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) successfully conducted its year-end performance review and planning session today at the Multi-Purpose Court of the Main Campus. Dubbed “Tugpa Dayun LUPAD: FY 2024 Year-End Performance Review and FY 2025 Target Setting,” the event gathered top management and key officials from all six campuses to evaluate the university’s accomplishments and set strategic goals for the coming year.
As a state-funded university, SLSU underscores its responsibility to effectively utilize public resources. Anchored on its mission to provide quality higher education and foster innovation, the university’s year-end review aligns with the goals of its strategic plan, LUPAD: Ascending of the Mighty Kingfishers, which outlines priorities for 2025-2029. The activity provided a platform for a comprehensive review of FY 2024 achievements against the targets set in the Strategic Plan Execution Continuum. It also laid the groundwork for integrating LUPAD’s priorities into the university’s FY 2025 targets, ensuring alignment with regional and national development goals.
The “Tugpa Dayun LUPAD” session aimed to evaluate FY 2024 performance, identifying strengths and areas for improvement. It also sought to highlight gaps and issues by comparing actual performance with GAA and Strategic Plan targets, analyze root causes of performance gaps, and propose corrective actions. Additionally, it aimed to recalibrate OPCR/DPCR/UPCR targets to align with organizational goals for 2025, establish SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) targets for FY 2025, and strengthen collaboration and accountability across departments and campuses.
The program opened with a motivational message from Dr. Jude A. Duarte, University President, who emphasized the importance of collaboration and strategic planning in realizing the university’s vision. Performance reviews were presented, showcasing key metrics, notable achievements, and challenges encountered in FY 2024.
The expected outputs of the activity include a comprehensive report summarizing FY 2024 performance, identification of performance gaps and corresponding strategies to address them, calibrated OPCR/DPCR/UPCR targets for FY 2025 aligned with LUPAD and GAA objectives, and recommendations to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.
The “Tugpa Dayun LUPAD” event not only celebrated SLSU’s accomplishments but also reaffirmed its commitment to accountability and strategic foresight. As the university transitions into FY 2025, it remains resolute in fostering innovation, promoting educational quality, and advancing sustainable development across Southern Leyte and beyond. With LUPAD as its guiding framework, SLSU is poised to achieve greater heights, embodying its mission to serve as a center of excellence in higher education and a catalyst for regional progress.
