SLSU discuss partnership with COA

The Commission on Audit Province of Southern Leyte conducted an exploratory meeting with Southern Leyte State U, the lone university in the province, to discuss a possible partnership as a chosen member of the COA Audit team to provide service in the conduct of Citizen’s Participatory Audit (CPA) on the Solid Waste Management System of the province, on September 14, 2023.

The exploratory meeting was conducted at the Office of the President, headed by Dr. Ma. Nineveh Chan-Duarte, the supervising auditor of the local government audit sector, with her team from Maasin City and Hinundayan. The COA Audit Team first visited the University President, Dr. Jude A. Duarte, for an initial discussion with the primary objective of the partnership.

The research team will be the one to conduct the CPA. with the lead of SLSU’s Vice President for Research, Innovation and Extension Services, Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, together with her team, Dr. Angel T. Sabusap – Director of Extension Services, Dr. Marie Khul C. Langub – Director of Research and Innovation, Ms. Adelfa Diola – Science Research Specialist II and Mr. Gordon Opina – Environmental Management and Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer of SLSU.

Both parties agreed and devised a plan for implementing the Citizen’s Participatory Audit of the Solid Waste Management System.
