SLSU conducts Monitoring and Evaluation of Project FLEE

Southern Leyte State University recently conducted monitoring and evaluation activities for the Financial Literacy for Economic Enhancement (FLEE) project of the SLSU-TO BSBA program, for the 4Ps beneficiaries in Tomas Oppus. The activity aimed to assess the effectiveness of the financial literacy training provided under the project.
The monitoring revealed that participants gained practical knowledge in managing finances, saving, investing, and even starting small businesses. Beneficiaries reported increased confidence in handling their income, with many now setting aside regular savings and exploring investment opportunities such as low-risk bonds and micro-enterprises. Several participants expressed interest in entrepreneurship, citing the training’s focus on budgeting, business planning, and marketing as key motivators. This shift highlights improved financial behaviors and suggests potential for local economic growth.
The findings confirm that Project FLEE is making a tangible impact by empowering communities to take control of their financial futures. SLSU-TO remains committed to refining the project through continuous monitoring and evaluation in other areas of Sogod Bay.
This activity supports several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by promoting financial independence, education, and inclusive economic development.
