SLSU-MCC holds Fire and Safety Drill Awareness
To promote a culture of readiness and reaction among the campus community, Southern Leyte State University - Maasin City Campus recently held a thorough Fire and Safety Awareness Drill on April 03, 2024. Faculty, staff, and students all actively participated in the event organized by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) - Maasin. Participants in the simulation acquired vital information about fire safety equipment usage, evacuation protocols, and fire prevention.
The exercise started with training on the fundamentals of fire safety, which included themes like recognizing fire threats, emergency procedures, and the value of early detection. After that, hands-on demonstrations showed off how to correctly use firefighting supplies like fire extinguishers and fire blankets. Participants actively participated in simulated evacuation drills to emphasize the importance of a quick and organized evacuation during emergencies.
The Fire and Safety Awareness Drill provided the institution with an invaluable platform for improving readiness and fostering a sense of responsibility for fire safety. In addition to promoting campus safety, the event provides instructors, staff, and students with the necessary knowledge and abilities to enable them to properly respond to potential fire events in their particular surroundings. Such initiatives demonstrate the university's dedication to maintaining a safe and stable campus environment.
