SLSU-ITSO Bags Third Platinum Award and Special Citation for Patent Filings at the 2025 ITSO Presidents' Summit

The Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) of Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) once again brought pride and honor to the university during the 2025 ITSO Presidents' Summit and General Assembly held at Sequoia Hotel Manila Bay, Parañaque City on April 10, 2025. With the theme "Empowering ITSOs Toward Global Recognition of Innovation Breakthrough", the event gathered innovation champions from across the country.
SLSU-ITSO received the prestigious Platinum Award for the third time, after successfully fulfilling the 2024 accomplishment requirements. In addition, the office was conferred a Special Citation Award for meeting the milestone of filing 10 patent applications within the year.
Representing the institution at the event were Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (VPRIES), Engr. Jonelle H. Tablada, Director of the Knowledge Transfer and Technology Office (KTTO), and Ms. Rio Katrina Avila, Head of the ITSO Office.
It is worth noting that the ITSO Office, under the leadership of Ms. Rio Katrina Avila, operates as a vital unit of the KTTO, which is helmed by Engr. Jonelle H. Tablada. This collaborative and visionary leadership has been instrumental in steering the office toward impactful initiatives and strategic partnerships.
The event convened industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders from various sectors to recognize the achievements of ITSOs across the country. This honor reflects the ITSO's unwavering dedication to supporting innovation, research, and the development of transformative technologies for a brighter and more innovative future.
