SLSU-San Juan host RIES-MIS training to streamline research and extension data management

Southern Leyte State University-San Juan Campus, through the Research, Innovation, and Extension Services Office and the Campus Information Systems and Analytics, successfully conducted a virtual orientation and hands-on training on the Research, Innovation, and Extension Services-Management Information System (RIES-MIS) on February 5, 2025. The event was attended by faculty researchers and extensionists, with the goal of enhancing the efficiency of research and extension data management through the newly developed system.
The training was graced by Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services, who emphasized the significance of digital transformation in enhancing research productivity and extension services. The session featured Mr. Jerald Tomboc, the lead programmer behind RIES-MIS, who provided a comprehensive walkthrough of the system's functionalities, including data entry, tracking, and report generation. Participants engaged in hands-on exercises, ensuring familiarity with the platform for efficient project documentation and monitoring.
This initiative underscores the university’s commitment to research-driven innovation and technology-enhanced education. By integrating digital solutions into research and extension management, the institution aims to enhance efficiency, data accuracy, and accessibility in its knowledge generation and community engagement efforts.
