Palompon Institute of Technology, SLSU - Tomas Oppus collaborate on Disposal of Unserviceable Items through benchmarking
Palompon Institute of Technology (PIT) conducted a benchmarking activity on Disposal of Unserviceable Government Properties as a best practice of Southern Leyte State University-Tomas Oppus (SLSU-Tomas Oppus) in order to improve their disposal methods for unserviceable items.
On May 8, 2024, the two institutions joined for the said activity. Key participants in the event included Dr. Gregorio S. Ochavillo, the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Chair of the Disposal Committee and Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) from PIT, and Dr. Clemente H. Cobilla, the Campus Director of SLSU-Tomas Oppus.
During the activity, Dr. Cobilla welcomed everyone and introduced the members of the SLSU-TO disposal committee. Dennis T. Narbonita, supply officer an expert in disposal of unserviceable items, shared valuable insights and in-depth information about how SLSU-Tomas Oppus handles the disposal of unserviceable items.
His presentation served as a guide for discussions and provided best practices to follow. Through this knowledge exchange, both institutions shared their strategies for effective waste management. Dr. Ochavillo also shared his insights and highlighted the lessons learned from the benchmarking activity.
Mrs. Judy O. Paz, the SAO Designate, expressed her gratitude for the collaborative effort and encouraged ongoing cooperation between PIT and SLSU-Tomas Oppus. This benchmarking activity between Palompon Institute of Technology and SLSU-Tomas Oppus aims to enhance their disposal methods for unserviceable items.
By sharing knowledge and working together, both institutions are committed to creating a sustainable environment and efficient disposal of unserviceable items.
