KANFIL Bigay-Puso: An Outreach Program to San Isidro Day Care Pupils
A linkage of Kapisanan ng Filipino, Extension Services of SLSU-T.O conducted an outreach program to San Isidro Daycare Pupils at San Isidro Covered Court, Tomas Oppus, Southern Leyte on the 21st of February in the morning.
"Charity begins at home." Dr. Mark B. Galdo expressed this line suggested that acts of kindness and generosity should begin within one's immediate community before extending to others. The outreach program initiative has given children contentment as they receive learning materials.
The program was hosted by first-year KANFIL students Mr. RJ E. Musa and Ms. Shirly C. Gula. The event began with a Prayer and singing of the Philippine National Anthem, followed by an Introductory Address by Dr. Mark G. Galdo, KANFIL Adviser. Afterward, an intermission number was performed by KANFIL members, who participated with San Isidro Daycare pupils. A congratulatory message was delivered to the interactive presentation by Hon. Barangay Captain Joel T. Nares. Subsequently, entertainment games took part, granting seven children winners with story books.
The linkage of KANFIL members and donations from different organizations made children euphoric to offer school supplies favorable to schooling. Later, KANFIL students managed to guide daycare learners to write their names on the provided writing portfolio and corresponded with encouraging messages to pupils. Moreover, a surprise dance number was handed out by daycare learners.
The program's atmosphere made a blissful heart with a melodic song number by Dr. Galdo, Carlos Jose Impuesto, a daycare learner and a special presentation of Daycare Teacher, Ma. Nora T. Suan while providing free snacks to participants of the outreach program. Thereafter, Teacher Suan and KANFIL Secretary, Ms. Shara Miculob, expressed another felicitation. Finally, the Program Filipino Chair, Dr. Analiza M. Nares, conveyed closing remarks and concluded with a photo opportunity.
