SLSU-MCC Prioritizes Safety: Conducts Basic Life Support and First Aid Training
Maasin City, Southern Leyte – Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) Maasin City Campus is taking proactive steps to enhance safety and preparedness on campus.
On November 19, 2024, Campus Director Frederick C. Aniga issued Memorandum Order No. 107, which mandates the participation of selected individuals in Basic Life Support and First Aid Training.
On November 20-21, this same year, the Red Cross training and seminar took place. Red Cross Responder, Mr. Ar-Jay V. Dumalagan; a graduate of Bachelor of Public Administration in 2018 at SLSU-MCC, led the basic first aid instruction and training that mainly focused on the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation response, and Bandaging Techniques. With Mr. Dumalagan's expertise, he showcased the proper way of conducting such basic aids, also making the training a participative and unforgettable experience for the selected individuals.
With the collaboration and support of the school, the NSTP-CWTS first year student officers, headed by the NSTP Coordinator Dr. Lucia Stella Grace Abaa, together with the faculty and staffs of the school, joined the activity, and showed a remarkable participation during the training.
The two-day seminar and training were a resounding success, as the aim of prioritizing safety and equipping its members with essential life-saving skills, fostering a safer and more resilient campus community.
