CH Conducts Seminar-Workshop on Campus Journalism
Being dedicated to enhance the writing and lay-outing skills of the students, and eager to uproot new staff, the Campus Headliner, the official student publication of SLSU-Main, conducted Seminar-Workshop on Campus Journalism last September 18, at the Conference Room, USSC Building.
Wanting to reveal and develop their skills, participants from different departments did not hesitate to join the annual event as they believed it was the right avenue to get acquainted of the subjects relating to journalism. To ensure the attainment of the participants’ crave for knowledge, significant techniques were given. The speakers were: Ms. Eda J. Opina, CH adviser, for News Writing; Kieth Monteroso, Chief Editor, for Feature Writing; Divino Alaras, Associate Editor-in-Chief, for Editorial Writing; and Dave Villafaňe, Graphic and Lay-out artist, for Cartooning and Lay-outing.
To examine the skills, knowledge, and confidence of the participants, the workshop happened in the afternoon where they were tasked to choose their respective specializations. Relevant topics were given to them as one of the bases to qualify as part of the CH family. Interview and critiquing followed immediately where confidence and loyalty were tested. The Seminar-Workshop only showed how devoted the Campus Headliner is in producing quality campus journalists.
Lead. Excel. Be a Campus Headliner!
