SDC Welcomes SLSU FCSIT Students for International Student Immersion Program in Vietnam

The Software Development Center (SDC) of the University of Danang officially welcomed five Information Technology students from Southern Leyte State University on June 2, 2025, for the start of their International Student Immersion Program. During the welcome ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Ha Huy Cuong, Director of the SDC, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership and emphasized the importance of international collaboration in advancing technology education.
The participating students—Craig Nathan R. Picardal, Josiah Joed G. Getes, Denje L. Largoza, Jennibeth Mangawang, and Ken Johnzent Palaña—were given a tour of the SDC and had the opportunity to engage with university faculty and students. Accompanying the group is Dr. Rhoderick D. Malangsa, faculty member of the Faculty of Computer Studies and Information Technology (FCSIT) and Head of the Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) program. Dr. Malangsa will also take part in a five-day faculty immersion aimed at fostering research collaboration and strengthening institutional partnerships between SLSU and Vietnamese universities.
Running from June 2 to July 2, 2025, the immersion program will provide BSIT students from SLSU's Main Campus and Hinunangan Campus with hands-on experience in software development projects, practical training in web and app development, and exposure to corporate tech environments and international teamwork.
This international immersion program not only broadens global opportunities for SLSU students but also supports the university’s commitment to becoming a Center of Development in IT education.
