SLSU Ranks 2nd in Region VIII for COPC Compliance in CHED Gawad Parangal 2025

Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) was awarded Rank 2 among all SUCs in Eastern Visayas during the CHED Region VIII Gawad Parangal 2025 held on May 27 at Saint Paul School of Professional Studies, Palo, Leyte. The university was recognized for having the second highest number of COPC-issued programs—62 out of 77—demonstrating its strong commitment to quality assurance and CHED compliance.
The award was received by VPAA Dr. Constantino G. Medilo, Jr., together with Campus Director Dr. Clemente Cobilla of SLSU Tomas Oppus and Dean Norla Grace Betarmos of the Faculty of Teacher Education.
SLSU also received citations for:
- Producing topnotchers in licensure examinations
- Being a top performing school at the national level
- Inclusion in global university rankings (THE and WURI)
These recognitions reaffirm SLSU’s growing prominence in academic excellence and internationalization in Region VIII.
