SLSU-CARE launches CHED-funded program on Development of Bisaya Learning Materials for MTB-MLE
The Southern Leyte State University's Center for Access to Rural Education (SLSU-CARE) launched its program on "Development of Bisaya Learning Materials for Mother Tongue-based Multilingual Language Education" on January 14, 2021, at SLSU-CARE Office at SLSU Tomas Oppus Campus.
The project aims to provide opportunities for research and extension to SLSU personnel to apply the knowledge and experiences gained through the activities to the improvement of the university's curricula and programs. It also focuses on producing various research outputs and diffusion efforts in the hopes of transitioning to a more resilient higher education system, and on improving language documentation studies, literature collection and documentation studies, and the development of mother tongue-based multilingual education learning materials.
This is a Continuing Profession Education (CPE) program funded by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in the amount of ₱4,584,703.20. This was awarded to SLSU CARE on March 10, 2020, for 2019 RECPE Grants.
In her Facebook post, SLSU President Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes congratulated the whole team of SLSU-CARE, saying that “this is a beautiful beginning of more significant endeavors in the future."
CARE Director Mr. Max Teody T. Quimilat also expressed his gratitude to CHED for the support afforded to SLSU and its research endeavors.
