SLSU Joins Passage to ASEAN (P2A) Research Network through MOU Signing

Southern Leyte State University was recently invited to attend the Passage to ASEAN Association's 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM 8), which was held from December 4 to 7, 2024. Hosted by the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Rizal Technological University (RTU), this year's AGM featured an international conference focused on three themes: Student Mobility and Transnational Education, Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education, and the ASEAN Research Network (ARN).
This participation has strengthened SLSU's international presence and commitment to regional and global collaboration. On this occasion, SLSU formally joined the Passage to ASEAN (P2A) Research Network by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Dr. Constantino G. Medilo, Jr., the Vice President for Academic Affairs, represented the university and signed the agreement during the event alongside CHED Commissioner Dr. Ethel Agnes Pascua-Valenzuela.
The MOU marks SLSU's active role in a network comprising over 130 higher education institutions across the ASEAN region. Through this partnership, SLSU gains access to opportunities for collaborative research and innovative initiatives that address student mobility, transnational education, and the integration of artificial intelligence in academic institutions.
Passage to ASEAN (P2A) is a non-profit network established in 2012 by five higher education institutions. These include Rangsit University in Thailand, Duy Tan University in Vietnam, the National University of Laos, Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UniRazak) in Malaysia, and Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta in Indonesia.
Through its involvement in the P2A Research Network, SLSU aims to leverage shared resources, best practices, and research outputs to enhance its academic programs and international reputation further.
