Southern Leyte State University emerges as a guiding light of innovation. Under the course of Data Analytics in Hospitality Industry, our Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students, undergo a training to ensures their effectiveness in managing hotel operations in the future. The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management spearheaded by Dean Jasmin S. Dayunan took the initiative to tie-up with the Smiles and Stars Hospitality Online Training Services (SSHOTS), a Filipino business operated that provider of hospitality system and offers training to Tourism and Hospitality students nationwide. The SSHOTS aims to equip the next generation of hospitality leaders with the core and functional competencies required by the industry. Aligned to this, they also provide Data Analytics training to our BSHTM students. The students under the class of Ms. Dinah Catamco have successfully achieved a 95% passing score during their Data Analytics workshop activities and case scenarios. Also, same batch of students earned their training and workshop certificates on the Hotel Property Management System (PMS) and Restaurant Point-of-Sale (POS) last semester under the subject of Ms. Agnes E. Montanez and Ms. La Arni Biez Pasus. They will now advance in developing their skills and knowledge about hospitality data analytics.
CHTM assures to embedded relevant trainings to their instruction to empower the students as future graduates to be industry ready, and applies data-driven in decision making, relevant, innovative to enhance guest experiences, optimize operations, and maximize revenue in the real-world hospitality industry.
