SLSU celebrates 16th Charter Anniversary
The six campuses of Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) gathered altogether at SLSU-Main Campus to celebrate its 16 years as a science and technology state university on March 7, 2020.
The carnival-themed celebration started with a parade around the campus which is unlike the past years when parades were held around Sogod, following the Department of Health’s (DOH) advisory on the conduct of public events and gatherings regarding the threat of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

“When we continue to work together, we will expand our positive impact on people and communities throughout Southern Leyte, the Eastern Visayas region and our country because this is the very reason why we are here that is what we should do. That is what we passionate about. And that is who we are,” Dr. Yepes said.

Darilag, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Commissioner and SLSU BOR Chairman, also delivered a message and inspired the university to soar even higher.
