SLSU-MCC Celebrates Turnover of Repaired and Rehabilitated 3rd Floor
The Southern Leyte State University Maasin City Campus (SLSU-MCC) proudly held the turnover ceremony of the newly repaired and rehabilitated third floor of the campus building, marking a significant milestone in improving the learning environment for students and staff. The event was attended by key University Officials, Sangguniang Panglunsod Councilors, and Department Heads, along with the project’s engineering team.
The ceremony commenced at 3:00PM with an invocation, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the SLSU Hymn. Ms. Juvenal F. Sumaya, MBA, Planning Officer-Designate, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, laying the groundwork for the day’s proceedings.
Engr. Regie Bero, Campus Engineer, presented a detailed overview of the repair and rehabilitation project. He explained the structural improvements and facilities that had been upgraded to ensure the safety and comfort of students, faculty, and staff. His comprehensive report provided an insightful look into the challenges and accomplishments throughout the construction period.
A symbolic turnover of the project was then conducted, with a representative from the contractor handing over the project’s completion to the university’s officials. The handover was met with applause, symbolizing the unity between the university and its partners in enhancing the campus facilities.
Following the turnover, Dr. Jude A. Duarte, University President, expressed his gratitude for the successful completion of the project. His sentiments were echoed by Hon. Mikhael Leonardo V. Mercado, SP Member, who highlighted the collaboration between the local government and the university in fostering educational growth.
The ceremony reached its peak with the ribbon-cutting ceremony, led by Dr. Duarte and Hon. Mercado, followed by a guided tour of the rehabilitated third floor. Guests marveled at the newly refurbished spaces, which are set to offer a more conducive environment for academic pursuits.
