SLSU-San Juan Campus celebrates InduTech Week with seminar-writeshop on Patent Drafting
SLSU-San Juan Campus' Industrial Technology celebrates InduTech Week 2024 on April 22-26, 2024. This week-long celebration allowed students and faculty to delve into innovation, explore cutting-edge ideas, and foster creativity.
A highlight of the InduTech Week was the Seminar-Writeshop on April 22-24, 2024, focused on Patent Drafting, a crucial aspect of innovation and intellectual property protection. Led by ITSO Head, Ms. Rio Katrina Avila, Extension Director, Dr. Angel T. Sabusap, and Patent Drafter, Engr. Carmel D. Aniga, the seminar gave participants valuable insights into the intricacies of drafting effective patents.
The seminar-writeshop, a practical and empowering experience, provided guidance on conducting prior art searches, understanding patentability criteria, and avoiding common pitfalls in patent drafting. Participants were encouraged to actively engage in discussions and ask questions, facilitating a deeper understanding of the subject matter. The initiative has resulted in 16 patent registration submissions, a testament to the practical benefits of the seminar-writeshop.
