SLSU - MCC holds Basic Life Support and First Aid Training
The SLSU Emergency and Rescue Volunteers (SERVE) of Maasin City Campus concluded their 3-day Basic Life Support and First Aid training last Thursday, December 7, 2023. An essential aspect of workplace preparedness, this training gave the volunteers the knowledge and skills to respond effectively and deliver timely interventions in emergencies. The training provided the participants confidence and self-trust, empowering them to act and offer essential medical assistance, thus preventing further injury and complications. Basic life support (BLS) and First Aid are crucial skills that anyone and everyone should possess, for they play a vital role in saving lives. Moreover, this training promotes a culture of safety, preparedness, resilience, and empathy in personal and professional settings. We want to thank our Campus Director, Dr. Frederick C. Aniga, for his unwavering support of this activity. As per Dr. Aniga’s inspirational message, he hopes this training will give everyone present knowledge and skills and the attitude and determination to help others in times of distress.” Indeed, your encouragement has meant a great deal to us, and it is reassuring to know that we have you on our side. Thank you to the people who made this activity possible: the dynamic team of trainers from the Provincial Health Services Office headed by Dr. July A. Duarte, Mr. Ralph Madridejo, Mr. Joewil Napuli, Mr. Erwin Malazarte and Mr. Don Almario. Their passion and commitment to empower individuals has brought new depths into the participants’ lives. Sincere gratitude also to our SAS Head, Sir James Michael P. Amrinto, for assisting us in making this activity a successful one.
