Seeds of Today, Harvest of Tomorrow!
Officers from the Society of Bontoc Agricultural Students of Southern Leyte State University-Bontoc Campus led by Mr. Josh Montederamos and Ms. Judea Loui Marfil guided with the expertise of Mr. Noel E. Celeste, the program chair of BS Agriculture and Mr. Ericjhon P. Hinayon, the program chair of BAT, successfully demonstrated the proper way of planting vegetable crops to the ever enthusiastic children of Diverse Minds Montessori School (DMMS) through the cooperation of Ms. Florian L. Gloria, School Head of DMMS with the theme "πππ¬π’π πππ«πππ§π’π§π π π¨π« ππ‘π’π₯ππ«ππ§".
The task at hand was very challenging for the officers as it was a very new experience to have experienced an extension program and the target audience was a handful to say the least. Proper introduction was done at first followed by the demonstration of sowing of seeds and transplanting of seedlings. The children were very active and participative to the activity, guided by their parents, giving the assurance that these children are willing to listen and learn. The transplanting activity was unfortunately cut short due to weather conditions but the point of the activity was rather implicated to the children and their parents.
In the end, it wouldn't have been as successful as the event was without the heartfelt support from Bontoc Campus Director, Dr. Gladys L. Pascual, giving them boost of encouragement to do better and be better as this was the foreground for more upcoming programs involving planting the seeds of knowledge on the importance of agriculture in the minds and hearts of not only to the children of DMMS but to more upcoming extension programs. | via AgriStar
