Southern Leyte State U to partner with FAO as Service Provider
A representative from the Food and Agriculture Organization paid a visit to Southern Leyte State University on September 15, 2023, to discuss future and potential engagement as a service provider to conduct Beneficiary validation and Profiling for a project entitled ‘Restoring Livelihood and Enhancing Resilience of Farmers and Fisherfolk Affected by the Typhoon” The project aims to restore and promote resilient livelihoods of 1,333 small-scale farming and fishing households here in the Province of Southern Leyte.
FAO Project Field Coordinator, Ms. Janice M. Maranilla, had a meeting with the Vice President for Research, Innovation and Extension Services (VPRIES), Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, together with the Director for Extension Services, Dr. Angel T. Sabusap, and SRS II, Ms. Adelfa C. Diola.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has been the Philippine government’s longstanding partner in designing relevant programs and policies that promote food security and sustainable agriculture that ultimately aim to end hunger.
