CSC awards CNA certificate of registration between Southern Leyte State U, admin staff
In a significant step towards promoting effective governance and responsible public sector unions, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) awarded Certificate of Registration No. 2629 for the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) between the Facilitative and Administrative Society (FADS) and Southern Leyte State University.
FADS is an organization comprised of administrative staff members from all six campuses of Southern Leyte State U.
The certificate of registration serves to strengthen the bond between the university and its administrative staff, reinforcing their partnership and making Southern Leyte State U an even better place to work.
Further, the CNA, with a duration of three years, paves the way for improved communication, collaboration, and resolution of disputes within the university.
University President Dr. Jude A. Duarte, and FADS President, Mr. Miguel M. Bidon, received the registration certificate from Ms. Marjorie Anne F. Cadiz, the Supervising Human Resource Specialist of CSC Field Office-Southern Leyte. The event was attended by other FADS officers, adding to the significance of the occasion.
During the awarding of the certificate, Ms. Cadiz emphasized the importance of comprehending the details of the agreement and encouraged the administrative staff to actively uphold its provisions.
"Make sure you understand the details of the agreement and play your part in upholding it. Use the dispute resolution process outlined in the agreement while also working openly with the management on a daily basis," Ms. Cadiz said.
Highlighting the university core values, Dr. Duarte challenged all the employees, both faculty members and administrative staff, to put in practice the university core values.
"Emphasizing the importance of our university's core values, I challenge all employees to not only take note of these values but also embrace them wholeheartedly while serving Southern Leyte State U," Dr. Duarte quipped.
The registration certificate signifies a significant achievement for Southern Leyte State University and FADS, demonstrating their commitment to ensuring a harmonious and productive work environment.
In an interview, Mr. Bidon expressed his profound gratitude for the diligent efforts of the previous set of officers, led by Ms. Jona Mae Espere, who played a pivotal role in paving the path towards this achievement.
"This milestone would not have been made possible without the dedication and tireless work of the former set of officers, particularly under the exceptional leadership of Ms. Jona Mae Espere. Their relentless commitment has transformed this aspiration into a reality," Mr. Bidon acknowledged.
Further, Mr. Bidon is grateful for the support of the past administrators of the university under the administration of former President Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes
As the CNA takes effect, the collective efforts of the administrative staff and the university's management will contribute to a more efficient and supportive work environment, and mark a positive step forward in Southern Leyte State U's journey towards achieving its goals and providing quality education and services to its students and the community.
By formalizing their employer-employee relationship, both parties are empowered to engage in meaningful dialogue, leading to the growth and development of the university community as a whole. The Certificate of Registration No. 2629 for CNA was presented on Monday morning, June 26, 2023.
Moving ahead, Southern Leyte State University and FADS aim to harness the benefits of the registered CNA, fostering cooperation, and striving towards a shared vision of excellence.
