SLSU and BELCO Higher Education Alliance Forge Partnership to Kick Off in 2025
Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) welcomed the New Year with a fresh partnership with BELCO Higher Education Alliance, Netherlands. On January 6, 2024, SLSU and BELCO Higher Education Alliance sealed their partnership through Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony at the SLSU Board Room.
The MoU was formalized by SLSU President Dr. Jude A. Duarte and BELCO President of Non-Profit Consortium, Dr. Maurice Cuypers. The agreement paves the way for transformative initiatives, including joint research projects, dynamic faculty exchanges, and robust student mobility programs.
In his words of commitment, Dr. Duarte expressed that the partnership with BELCO would seal their agreement and sail their collaborative efforts forward.
Dr. Cuypers shared similar enthusiasm, noting that the partnership reflects their mutual vision of preparing students and educators to excel in an increasingly interconnected world. He reiterated BELCO’s commitment to fostering cultural exchange and academic growth.
The agreement represents not just a formal understanding but a mutual dedication to progress and excellence in education, setting the tone for a dynamic year ahead.
The ceremonial MOU signing was witnessed by the SLSU Vice Presidents including Dr. Dewoowoogen P. Baclayon, VP for Admin and Finance, Dr. Constantino G. Medilo, Jr., VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, VP for Research Innovation and Extension Services, and Dr. Marie Khul C. Langub, the newly appointed VP for Student Auxiliary Service.
The ceremony concluded with a group photo and productive discussions about the next steps for implementing the initiatives outlined in the MoU.
