Southern Leyte State U, DSWD RO8 discuss potential collab, partnership
On November 05, 2024, the Regional Office of the Department of Social Welfare (DSWD) made a courtesy call to Southern Leyte State University to discuss potential areas of collaboration and partnership.
During the visit, the department presented DSWD’s programs and services that would be relevant to the mission and vision of Southern Leyte State U and the community it serves. Through this partnership, SLSU will assist DSWD in strengthening their programs and services by providing them with resources that will enable the department to address the social welfare needs of the communities.
Once realized, the partnership will take center on the Maasin City Campus, through the Social Work Department who will be facilitating the strategic alliances of the Department and the university. The Research, Innovation, and Extension Office also presented points for collaboration. The Student and Auxiliary Services also highlighted some programs that could be of help to the students of SLSU.
Present during the courtesy call were Dr. Jude A. Duarte, University President, Dr. Dewoowoogen P. Baclayon, VPAF; Dr. Annabelle M. Hufalar, VPSAS; Dr. Constantino G. Medilo, VPAA; Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, VPRIES; Dr. Frederick C. Aniga, MCC Campus Director, Ms. Claerchille Jhulia C. Robin-Tan, Executive Asssitant, and Ms. Stella Lucie Armada Abaa, MCC QA Head. Representatives from DSWD were Regional Director Grace Q. Subong and Ms. Jonnah R. Jord, Planning Officer I.
This partnership aims to address SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 17 (Partnership for Goals).
