SLSU Strengthens Partnership with Wadhwani Foundation through Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programs
Wadhwani Foundation representatives, Mr. Lucrecio D. Delgado, Jr., Regional Director of the Wadhwani Foundation Southeast Asia, and Ms. Angelica Añabeza, WF Senior Associate, met with the SLSU ELIA Director to discuss the realignment of the WEN Ignite Program Deployment and the establishment of the Campus Ambassadors Ignite Program. This program aims to unleash the students' inner genius and have them join the frontline of innovation. The meeting was held on October 1, 2024, at the SLSU External Linkages and International Affairs Office.
On May 7 of the same year, Southern Leyte State University and the Wadhwani Foundation officially forged a Memorandum of Understanding, marking the start of their collaboration. The signing ceremony took place at Southern Leyte State University, with Dr. Jude A. Duarte, the University President, and Mr. Lucrecio D. Delgado, Jr., the Regional Director for Southeast Asia at the Wadhwani Foundation, as the signatories.
Since the MOU was officially signed, both institutions have collaborated successfully. WF and SLSU's first collaboration was the WEN IGNITE PROGRAM Technopreneurship and Entrepreneurship Faculty Development Program. SLSU was recognized as the institution with the most completed participants.
The Wadhwani Foundation is a California-based public benefit corporation whose main objective is to accelerate economic development in several emerging economies through large-scale programs in entrepreneurship, small business growth, innovation, and skilling.
The ongoing partnership between Southern Leyte State University and the Wadhwani Foundation represents a step towards the acceleration of economic development through entrepreneurship, skilling, and innovation.
