SLSU Crowns SCUAA and RCAF Ambassadors in Mr. and Ms. SLSU 2026
Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) staged a night of pageantry, purpose, and pride as it crowned its new titleholders during the Mr. and Ms. SLSU 2026 coronation rites, one of the flagship highlights of the university’s 22nd Charter Anniversary celebration. Anchored on excellence in sports and culture, the competition spotlighted two major platforms; the State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) and the Regional Culture and the Arts Festival (RCAF), underscoring SLSU’s commitment to holistic student development.
Emerging victorious in the SCUAA division were Mr. Stanley Jose Golo of the Faculty of Criminal Justice and Ms. Princess Cielo P. Ramiso of the San Juan Campus, sealing their wins with compelling final answers that drew applause from the packed audience. In her closing statement, Ramiso framed the “global sky” as an invitation rather than a destination, challenging fellow students to transcend fear and limitations while showcasing Southern Leyteño talent and values on a broader stage. Golo, for his part, underscored innovation, resilience, and adaptability as defining traits of the modern SLSU student, punctuating his message with a call for action-driven leadership that reflects institutional values.
In the RCAF category, the crowns went to Mr. Jerome Zcheve S. Nobleza and Ms. Venus Ryckah E. Mestiola, both representing the Faculty of Engineering. Delivering a rallying cry to the Mighty Kingfishers, Mestiola urged students to step out of their comfort zones and embrace global competitiveness, echoing the university’s “LUPAD” mantra. Nobleza, meanwhile, anchored his platform on leadership and innovation, aligning his message with the university’s core pillars of Learning, Unity, Progress, Achievement, and Dynamism as strategic blueprints for international relevance.
The coronation night also featured special citations that recognized standout performances across segments. Mr. Romel H. Pitong of the Bontoc Campus and Ms. Lourine S. Caadyang of the Tomas Oppus Campus clinched the Photogenic awards, while Mr. Reuben D. Asencion Jr. of the Faculty of Arts and Science and Ms. Jovanah B. Daguplo of the Hinunangan Campus took home the Congeniality titles. Nobleza and Ramiso further reinforced their dominance by securing the Eloquence awards. The People’s Choice honors were awarded to Mr. Trian Troy T. Cabe of the San Juan Campus and Ramiso, reflecting strong audience engagement and online support. In the talent segment, Mr. Adrian N. Toyogon of the Maasin City Campus and Ms. Samantha Pulan of the Faculty of Criminal Justice topped the field, while Best in Production accolades went to Golo and Daguplo. More than a beauty contest, Mr. and Ms. SLSU 2026 unfolded as a strategic platform for branding, advocacy, and institutional pride. As SLSU marks over two decades of academic service, the newly crowned titleholders now carry the mantle of ambassadorship — poised to represent the university in the arenas of sport, culture, and global engagement.
