Southern Leyte State U launches first-ever Gandilan Awards; honors exemplary employees
Southern Leyte State University launched its first-ever Gandilan Awards on September 30, 2022 that recognizes employees across all the University System for their outstanding performance.
Gandilan Awards is Southern Leyte State U’s own version of the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) which aims to encourage, recognize and reward employees, individually or in groups, for their suggestions, innovative ideas, inventions, discoveries, superior accomplishments, heroic deeds, exemplary behavior, extraordinary acts or services in the public interest and other personal efforts contributing to efficiency, economy and improvement in government operations which lead to the University’s productivity.
A facilitator of knowledge, service, and innovation, Gandilan is a personified Kingfisher, an official icon of the University, that represents every employee in the University as a public servant and a “servant-hero.”
This year’s Gandilan Awards recognized over 100 outstaning employees across the university system with various recognitions.
