SLSU MCC empowers Locals of Brgy. Mohon and Brgy. San Joaquin, Macrohon through Financial Literacy Training
On October 22, 2024, the second day of project AMUMA continued in Brgy. Ichon, Maasin City, aimed at equipping local farmers and fisher-folks of Brgy. Mohon and Brgy. San Joaquin with essential financial literacy.
The event commenced with a welcome talk by Barangay Captain Marcial L. Padilla, who emphasized the importance of financial education in fostering community resilience. Resource speakers Robin Ariel Sumaya, CPA, and Dr. Magdaleno Samaco Jr. provided valuable insights into budgeting, saving, and investment strategies. Their expertise highlighted how financial literacy can lead to informed decision-making and improved economic well-being.
This training aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) # 4, which advocates for quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all. By empowering residents with financial knowledge, the initiative seeks to enhance overall economic stability of the locals in Brgy. Mohon and Brgy. San Joaquin, Macrohon paving the way for a more informed and self-sufficient community.
