SLSU-TO-BSBA Initiates Business Administration Research Congress 2025: "A Global Exchange of Ideas"

SLSU-TO BSBA successfully initiated the Research Congress 2025, themed "A Global Exchange of Ideas," on February 20, 2025. The virtual event was attended by the BSBA faculty, RIES head, BSBA students and representatives from BELCO Higher Education Alliance. This showcased the research papers of students from the Marketing Management (MM) and Human Resource Management (HRM) programs.
Dr. Candy Elizabeth G. Salapi, Program Head of Business Administration, delivered the Welcome Remarks and presented the Statement of Purpose for the event, emphasizing the importance of academic collaboration and the sharing of ideas. This was followed by Dr. Monna Liza M. Bosque, CPA, a faculty member in the Business Administration department, who introduced the panel of evaluators for the session.
The congress featured research presentations from students in the Marketing Management and Human Resource Management programs. Students shared their findings on various relevant business topics, providing insights into the latest trends and issues in their respective fields. Dr. Maurice Cuypers, President of BELCO Alliance, was invited as a guest speaker to offer valuable feedback and insights on the students' presentations. The audience had the opportunity to engage in an open forum, where they could ask questions and discuss the research findings. This event not only provided an excellent opportunity for students to present their work, but it also acknowledged the outstanding efforts of students with a special Best Presentation Award. One group from the HRM program and one from Marketing Management were selected for their exceptional research presentations. This would prepare the chosen groups for the upcoming SIBYA 2025 Research Congress, scheduled for March 4, 2025.
The event also served as an important step in internationalization efforts, as it invited observers from the BELCO Higher Education Alliance. Their participation fostered a global exchange of ideas and facilitated potential future collaborations in research and innovation. As the event concluded, Dr. Mark B. Galdo delivered the Closing Remarks, thanking the students, faculty members, and international guests for their active participation and contributions. In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of Quality Education, this event promotes academic excellence and fosters international collaboration.
