SLSU Main conducts validation of MTE Program
Southern Leyte State University –Main Campus successfully conducted the Validation of the Master of Technology Education (MTE) Program on December 9, 2025, at the SLSU Board Room as part of its formal application for the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC). The activity marks a significant milestone in the University’s ongoing commitment to ensuring academic excellence and alignment with national standards in graduate education.
Leading the event was University President, Dr. Jude A. Duarte, who emphasized the institution’s continued dedication to delivering responsive, high-quality, and industry-aligned graduate programs. He commended the collective efforts of the academic team in preparing the necessary documents and program components required for COPC validation.
Also in attendance were key University officials whose expertise and leadership play vital roles in the strengthening and quality assurance of the MTE program namely: Dr. James Brian Flores, Director, Quality Assurance Office; Mr. Donald Oja, Director of Instruction; Dr. Josefina O. Carpentero, Dean, Faculty of Education, Technology, and Instruction; Dr. Aaron D. Espinas, Head, Master in Technology Education Program; Dr. Nelfa C. Gil and Dr. It Phebeuger M. Torion (Former Heads, Master in Technology Education Program).


The validation was facilitated by the CHED Evaluation Team, whose expertise and recommendations greatly contributed to the program’s assessment and improvement. The team was composed of Dr. Allen U. Bautista, Technical Evaluator; Dr. Ma. Kripper N. Valmonte , CHED-OPSD Representative; Ms. Pamela R. Llamedo, CHED-OPSD Representative; Mr. Jan Paolo K. Vega, CHEDRO VIII Education Supervisor.

As Southern Leyte State University moves forward with its COPC application, the institution reaffirms its mission to produce competent, innovative, and research-oriented professionals equipped to meet the evolving demands of technology and education sectors.
